A Fresh Perspective

From the Desk of KLM Studio. . .

Sometimes we just need a quick and intentional refresh of a space that can make it feel brand new again. Remember the feeling of anticipating a delivery of a new item or produce? It is always exciting, but that feeling quickly is forgotten once the new item becomes familiar. You don’t have to do a complete overhaul to capture that feeling of newness and excitement. Just a fresh burst of creativity and renewed perspective will change everything.

Some things to consider:

New Views: Re-arrange the furniture you use the most to take advantage of different viewpoints.

Shop the House: Redistribute some of your favorite things from one room to another.

Eye Spy: Take note of the first thing that catches your eye when you walk into a room. This is the spot that you should change.

Rug Swap: Since rugs draw the eye and can segment furniture in a room, try switching them around in different rooms.

Places to start:

Small things: Maybe clear a drawer or small basket specifically for items that clutter your “drop space” like keys, mail and anything that you place down when you get home. Then add something unexpected nearby like a mirror to reflect light or a plant for a bit of life.

Streamlined shelves: Bookshelves can either be a statement piece or become a collection of clutter. Look at your bookcases from a different angle. Consider removing or redistributing pieces and look around for something to add that is entirely new.

Bedside manner: Create an intentional nightstand vignette. Keep a basket beneath the bed for items you use often, so that the view of your nightstand will create a sense of clam.

These are just a few things that can help you achieve a fresh perspective in your home!
